Guest Card
For stays of three nights or more, you get the Bregenzerwald Guest Card for free from May to October. It is your entry ticket to many attractions, swimming pools and mountain railways.
Hiking & walking
Fast walking, slow walking. In the valley or through alpine meadows. To viewpoints or speed records. At the foot of the Kanisfluh or around its summit. Our accommodation is perfect for savouring hiking and walking to the full. On over 2,000 signposted hiking kilometres, you can follow in the footsteps of the flora and fauna of the Bregenzerwald.
Pssst... we'll tell you our tips for explorers now: Walter's favourite hike is from the Roßstelle into the valley. Swenja likes to take the circular hiking trail to Vorsäß Doess, Leon often hikes to Mittagsspitze and Luis to Kanisfluh.

If you are magically drawn to wild water, you can't miss the Bregenzerach. With its rapids and waves, it will tempt you to go rafting, canyoning and canoeing. And if you fancy a relaxing swim and a dip in the cool water, it will pick you up on the banks with shady resting spots.

You can also swim in the family swimming pool in the centre of Mellau. It welcomes guests from May to September with heated pools and well-tended sunbathing lawns. Or you can look for a nice spot by the wild waters of the Bregenzerach. Of course, there are also quiet spots where you can take a wonderful dip.

It's no longer a secret that the Bregenzerwald is perfect for cycling and biking with or without an electric motor. Whether you're travelling to a mountain hut or on a leisurely tour through the valley - a different route awaits you every day. If you are travelling light, you can hire a bike from us in Mellau, just let us know at reception.

Time to work on your handicap: The 18-hole golf course in Mellau is one of the most beautiful in the country, surrounded by mountain scenery. Perfect for short and medium games. And you can also go fishing in Mellau, as there are several fishing waters. We will be happy to organise a day ticket for the Mellau fishing area for you.
