Train Connecton

Our team at the reception will gladly help you find the best train connections and book it for you. The closest train stations are Dornbirn or Bregenz. From there you can take a bus (Nr 40 from Dornbirn or 35 from Bregenz), which will take about an hour and stops at the hotel Sonne in Mellau (right next to the hotel Engel). Alternatively you can take a taxi, which will cost about € 65 or arrange transfer with us.

Bregenzerwald Card

From May – October you will get the Bregenzerwald card included in the price if you spend at least three nights in the hotel. With this card you have free access to the cable cars, public swimming pools and public transport.

Flughafen

Friedrichshafen: ca. 70 km – Transfer takes about 1 ¼ h

Memmingen: ca. 120 km – Transfer takes about 1 ½ h

Zürich: ca. 150 km – Transfer takes about 2 h

München: ca. 250 km – Transfer takes about 2 ½ bis 3 h

Monday and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 17:30 Uhr – 20:30

Saturday and Sunday 11:30 – 14:00 and 17:30 – 20:30

Please note that our restaurant is only open on weekends and public holidays at noon.

Parking

We offer a small number of parking spaces in front and next to the hotel. They can be used without additional charges, but please keep in mind that we cannot be held responsible for possible damages.

Smoking

We are a non-smoking hotel and smoking is strictly prohibited in the rooms and restaurants. Please use the balcony or the area next to the hotel entrance to smoke.

Sauna

The sauna and steam bath are situated in the cellar of the hotel, right next to the table tennis room. You can find towels in the sauna area downstairs.

Winter: 3 – 7 pm

Summer: please ask our receptionist. Usage until 7 pm for the latest.

Cancellation Policy and Travel Insurance

Please note that bookings are binding agreements and that in case of premature departure we are obligated to charge for the entire stay. This applies to the regulations of the ÖHV (Austrian hotel association).
Cancellation is free up to 1 month before the booking date. From 1 month to 14 days pre to the booking date a cancellation fee of 40% will be charged. From 14 to 7 days pre to the booking date 70% will be charged. Cancellation within one week before arrival is met with a 90% charge of the initial booking fee.

If you have any questions regarding travel withdrawal insurance, we recommend contacting our insurance partner Europäische Reiseversicherung (The European travel insurance).
